SALDF Unlocking the Cage Screening
Nov 6, 2017 from 12:15 PM - 1:30 PM
Join Gould SALDF for a screening of Unlocking the Cage, the incredible documentary of attorney Steven Wise’s pursuit to gain legal rights for animals from the filmmakers behind Don’t Look Back and The War Room. Wise and his legal team, the Nonhuman Rights Project (NhRP), recently filed the first ever lawsuits seeking to transform an animal from a “thing” with no rights to a “person” with legal protections.
Unlocking the Cage first premiered in 2016 at the Sundance Film Festival and has been shown at dozens of international and national film festivals to high acclaim. Since its premiere on HBO, organizations like ours have been hosting public screenings across the country with the help of The Nonhuman Rights Project.
Lunch will be provided!
