The Business Law Advisor (BLA) is a business law practice guide that reports on current issues faced by corporate clients and their respective legal advisors. Digital and hard copy issues of the Advisor are sent to USC Alumni throughout Los Angeles and across the county.
USC is the first law school in the nation to offer a practitioner-focused advisory, and as previous years' authors can attest, this novel structure is received warmly by practitioners who see real value in concise, well-written 5-7 page articles.
Writing an article for BLA offers a rare opportunity to look in-depth at a business related topic, do relevant research, and write an advisory article that may be published in the Advisor. This opportunity is an excellent way for students interested in business law to write on contemporary issues in a format understood and utilized by attorneys in their everyday practice, as well as gain recognition and publicity by having their name and work before USC alumni working in law firms across the country.
In addition, the BLA has received great recognition and support from Dean Rasmussen and the rest of the law faculty. As such, for the first time this year, student authors and staff will receive one unit of CR/D/F credit as part of their work for the Advisor.
