Global Health, Law and Human Rights (Spring 2017)
- Course Number: LAW-707
- Class Number: 03387
- Instructor: Sofia Gruskin
The course sheds light on the complex interactions between international and domestic law, global health and human rights, with particular emphasis on their interactions in addressing public health challenges. With a focus on strengthening the ability to engage in interdisciplinary work, the course brings law students together with public health and medical students to engage in real life problem solving. The course provides the basis for literacy in human rights law and the links to global health, including core principles, key documents, institutions, governance and practices. Frameworks for analyzing and addressing the interactions between law, health and human rights are introduced and applied, including the effects of law, policies and programs on human rights and on health.
