Topics in Criminal Law and Criminology (Spring 2018)

Course Description

This seminar will expose where bias lives in the substantive criminal law and its processes. That is, it will illuminate how judges and jurors socially construct black criminals in the adjudication of just deserts. It will also consider the law, language, and ethics issues at the heart of today’s racial and social justice controversies.
