LL.M. Career Development

The office of Graduate and International Programs (G&IP) is available to assist LL.M. and M.C.L. students in developing their individual job search strategies.

Counseling and Workshops

Our students receive personalized guidance with their career goals and professional development. We have a Career Advisor dedicated to helping our LL.M. and M.C.L. students and alumni with their job search. In addition to providing personalized advice and reviewing students' resumes, cover letters, and applications, we also hold workshops that prepare students to successfully navigate the American legal market. Our workshops include effective resume and cover letter drafting, networking tips, and interviewing etiquette.

LL.M.-Only Job Fairs

Our students participate in the International Students Interview Program (ISIP) held in New York each winter where foreign-trained LL.M. students from top law schools are given the opportunity to interview with prospective employers from the United States and abroad. Our students also participate in the UCLA Job Fair held here in Los Angeles during the spring semester.

USC Gould Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Events

USC Gould LL.M. students may attend the USC Gould Continuing Legal Education (CLE) annual conferences, where they can make valuable connections with law professionals, peers and USC Gould alumni. The law school hosts annual CLE conferences on Entertainment Law & Business, Trust & Estate, Corporate Counsel, Tax, Intellectual Property, and Real Estate Law & Business. Visit the CLE website for more information.

Other Resources

Students are granted access to Symplicity, an online resource for jobs and internship opportunities around the United States exclusive to USC Law students. We also host a number of networking events and mixers throughout the year to facilitate students' job search efforts. It is important to note that our students do not participate in the J.D. On-Campus Interview (OCI) program.
