Environmental Justice     LAW-657

This class will explore the emergence of the environmental justice movement, nationally and in California, within the civil rights foundation.  The class will then examine several ongoing environmental justice controversies in California, including the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated urban properties, the crisis in housing supply and affordability, the planning and construction of transportation infrastructure, and the planned transition from fossil fuels to solar/wind/battery energy.
