Clinics and PracticumsThis course immerses students in the dynamic world of sport facilities and live event operations. Combining the rigor of academic frameworks with the relevance of industry practice, students will explore how legal, operational, and experiential strategies intersect to shape the modern sport and entertainment environment. From professional facilities to collegiate venues, the course examines the full lifecycle of event and facility management – _topics covered incorporate legal and business issues in sport & entertainment management, including: risk management; limited duty rule & spectator safety (negligence, assumption of risk, premise liability); ticketing and marketing; corporate partnerships and naming rights; and the overall guest experience. Through applied academic coursework & case analyses; field-based learning; and practitioner insights; students will gain first-hand insight into how venue managers, operations teams, and event professionals navigate complex stakeholder networks, safety protocols, and fan engagement expectations in today’s multi-billion-dollar sports industry.
