ILL Borrowing for Current USC Gould Members
The USC Law Library provides interlibrary loan (ILL) borrowing services only to current USC Gould students, faculty, and staff. This service is available free of charge. When a needed item is not available at any of the University Park Campus (USC) libraries, members of the law school community can place an ILL request to obtain that item. Please see our ILL borrowing policies for details on how to submit ILL requests and for an overview of our interlibrary loan service policies and procedures.
ILL Borrowing for Other USC Members
Other USC patrons on the University Park Campus and/or Norris Medical Campus must contact IDD, central USC Libraries' Integrated Document Delivery service, and/or Norris Medical Library's interlibrary loan service, DocRetriever, via USC Libraries, to place interlibrary loan requests.
ILL Lending to Other Libraries
USC Gould School of Law Library is an OCLC member. Our OCLC symbol is ZZX.
ILL Lending Policy: We accept ILL requests from OCLC libraries that use the IFM payment option, and the requests of libraries with which we have a reciprocal lending agreement. We use the OCLC-based WorldShare module to process interlibrary loan requests and prefer to receive ILL requests via OCLC's WCRS. We will also accept requests via fax, mail and/or telephone.

Please note that we cannot accept ILL lending requests for items held at any University Park Campus USC libraries. To request materials from the main USC Libraries, whose OCLC symbol is CSL, please contact IDD. To request materials from USC's Norris Medical Library, whose OCLC symbol is CSZ, please contact DocRetriever. We do not accept lending requests from for-profit entities, or directly from individuals, including patrons of other libraries. Individuals should contact their local library to submit an ILL request to the USC Law Library.
ILL Lending Terms and Fees- Loans Terms
- Four-week loan, subject to recall
- May be renewed once, for an additional three weeks, unless recalled
- Fees for Loans
- $15 per item
- Fees for Copies Sent via Article Exchange, Email (.pdf), and/or U.S. Mail
- $15 minimum charge (flat fee) for the first 20 pages, $.35 per page thereafter
- Fees for Copies Sent via Fax: $2 per page, $10 minimum charge for a single transaction
