The Career Services Office, Externships Program and the Barbara F. Bice Public Interest Law Foundation at USC Gould School of Law held its annual Public Interest Career Fair recently, bringing a variety of employers in the public sector to campus to meet with students.

The fair, held Nov. 4 at Crocker Plaza in front of the Musick Law Building, brought more than 40 organizations together, including private public interest law firms and agencies from throughout the length of California and as far as Seattle and New York City, as well as a dozen alumni working across the public interest sector.

“Events like the Public Interest Career Fair play an important role in introducing students to professional pathways they may not have previously considered and in giving them direct access to practitioners who can explain the work their organizations do,” said Senior Director of Career Services Rachel Kronick Rothbart, who coordinated the event. “Having alumni participate adds meaningful value, as they can speak with students about their own career trajectories and the steps that led them into public interest roles. Their presence helps students see the range of possibilities available and how graduates of our law school navigate these paths.”
