The USC Gould School of Law’s Undergraduate Law Programs gathered to celebrate the academic achievements of its 48 graduating seniors who earned their Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies.
The 2026 Undergraduate Reception, which took place at the law school in April, recognized an accomplished cohort that embraced the rigor of legal education while building a strong foundation for future success.
“From their first courses to their final capstone projects, these students were challenged to think critically, write with precision, and engage deeply today’s most pressing legal issues,” said Professor Robert Rasmussen, the faculty director of undergraduate education at Gould. “They graduate with more than a degree. They leave USC with the analytical skills and broad perspective that will enable them to succeed in their life’s journey, whether that be further education or launching their careers.”
Of the nearly 50 graduates, 37 earned prestigious Latin honors, including 12 summa cum laude, 16 magna cum laude, and 9 cum laude — reflecting each student’s individual dedication to excellence in the classroom.
In addition, several graduating students earned prestigious academic awards from both USC and the Gould School.
University Distinctions
The Order of the Laurel and Palm, the highest honor given to students completing their degrees, is awarded to students who display exceptional leadership and service that makes a lasting impact on the university community and/or the world at large; recipients embody the university’s Unifying Values:

Life-Long Learner in Legal Education Award, presented to the graduating senior who is a leader and lifelong learner of legal education, including focusing their efforts on experiential learning:

Distinguished Legal Studies Graduate Award, presented to the graduating senior who has excelled academically, demonstrated a commitment to the field of legal education, and shows significant promise for future research or creative endeavors:
