Accommodations and Parking

If you plan to stay in the newly renovated guest rooms at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, you will need to make your own reservations by calling (800) 245-8673. To make reservations online, click here. A limited number of rooms are available at a special rate for Institute attendees of $199 for single or double occupancy. All reservations must be made by January 10, 2020, to take advantage of this special rate. When calling to make your reservations, make sure you mention the USC Gould School of Law and reservation code 2002USCTAX. The Millennium Biltmore is a non-smoking hotel.

Parking for the Institute is available at the hotel valet at a rate of $45 per car for overnight guests. Hotel valet is available for event attendees at a rate of $24 per car per day. Self-parking is available at Pershing Square at the following rates (and the hotel does not validate): $10 per car arriving before 11:00 am and departing by 5:00 pm; $16 per car arriving after 11:00 a.m.; $10 per car arriving after 5:00 p.m.  The Pershing Square maximum per day is $16.00, including overnight stays.

  • How do I register?
    You can register by clicking on Register Now.
  • How much does registration cost?
    The registration fees are outlined on the Registration Information page.
  • What do I get with my registration?
    Ticket holders gain admittance to the Institute, including the continental breakfast, keynote speaker luncheon, networking refreshment breaks, and early evening reception, all as determined by the registration type chosen. Ticket holders are entitled to a electronic downloadable copy of the Institute Syllabus (an up-to-date volume of outlines, articles, essays, briefs and other practical materials prepared by our speakers). The Syllabus can be purchased in print format for a cost of $35 per day of materials. The electronic download will be made available prior to the Institute (the print format will be available on site only).
  • What is a transferrable registration?
    If you are attending on a ticket registered as transferrable, the badge may be used by other and will only just the firm or company name on it. Your badge should be returned to the registration area at the end of the day for others to use on the following day(s).
  • How do I get my name badge?
    Badges will be held at Will Call. No badges will be mailed.

Institute Materials

  • Do I get materials with my registration?
    You will receive an electronic download of the Institute Syllabus, sent prior to the Institute. If you prefer a hardcopy, a printed version of the Syllabus can be purchased for a cost of $30 per day of materials.
  • Can I just purchase the Syllabus?

Audio Recordings

  • I'm confused by the audio recordings - can I get additional MCLE credit by listening to the audio recording after the Institute?
    Yes, since the Institute offers multiple breakout tracks you can get self-study California MCLE credit for any sessions you listen to that you did not attend in person. If you attend the Institute in person, you will also get participatory credit for sessions you attended.
  • If I do not attend the live Institute and I want to buy the audio recordings, can I get participatory credit?
    No, you are only eligible for self-study MCLE credit.
  • What format are the audio recordings? Do you furnish an audio player?
    Audio recordings will be available as MP3 downloads. You will need to open them with a media player, such as Windows Media Player or iTunes.
  • How much are the audio recordings?
    If you register for the Institute, the cost is $99 (per day).
    If you do not register for the Institute, the cost is $199 (per day).
  • Do I have to buy the Syllabus separately from the audio recordings?
    No, the Syllabus is part of the purchase. If you attend in person, you will receive a PDF of the Syllabus prior to the Institute.
  • If I purchase the audio recordings, when will they be available for download?
    We plan to make the audio recordings available to you within three weeks of the Institute.
  • Are all Institute sessions are included in the audio recordings?
    *The audio recordings include (in each case, for the day(s) purchased): all daytime sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday); except the Luncheon Keynote Address by IRS Commissioner Charles P. Rettig on Monday, and only the evening sessions "Maximizing the Section 199A Deduction – Part 1" (Monday) "Avoiding Conflicts of Interest" (Monday), "Partnership and Real Estate Hot Topics: Ask the Experts" (Tuesday), "Maximizing the Section 199A Deduction – Part 2 (Tuesday), "Ethics Update: Fundamental Rule Changes Affecting Tax Lawyers" (Tuesday), "Partnership and Real Estate Hot topics: Ask the Experts" (Tuesday), "Hot topics in Estate and Gift Tax Planning" (Wednesday),and "Hot Topics in Charitable Giving" (Wednesday). Any other sessions not listed in the previous sentence are not being recorded.


All registrations and purchases are final and non-refundable.
