Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman Michael Lynton

to speak at USC Law’s Institute on Entertainment Law and Business

Saturday, Oct. 23 

 

Sony Pictures Entertainment Chairman Michael Lynton is headlining USC Law’s Institute on Entertainment Law and Business, 

a featured marquee event for entertainment lawyers and professionals.

 

This year’s conference “Connecting the Dots: New Entertainment Constructs,” will feature an in-depth examination of topics such as video on demand, marketing, negotiating TV deals with media giants, litigation for transactional lawyers, trademarks and ethics. 

 

Co-sponsored by the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the USC Gould School of Law, the Institute on Entertainment Law and Business celebrates its 51th anniversary this year and is one of the most popular programs on campus. 

 

The event runs from 8:50 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 23 on the USC campus.

 

Other featured speakers include David Carson, the general counsel of the United States Copyright Office, who will provide an update on current issues; Lin Cherry of MySpace; Tony Wang of Twitter and Jordan McCollum of Disney Interactive. He will talk about social medial strategies.  Peter Loehr, the managing director for China from Creative Artists Agency will lead a discussion on the "Rise of the Asian Film Industry and Doing Business in China and India."

 

In addition, two special music sessions are featured on "Marketing Artists in the New Millennium" and the "Economics of Touring."  

 

Since 1958, the annual Continuing Legal Education event has attracted Hollywood’s key business and legal professionals.
