VERMONT LEGISLATURE OPENS CIVIL MARRIAGE TO SAME-SEX COUPLES

USC LEGAL EXPERT AVAILABLE

DAVID B. CRUZ, USC law professor, is an expert in constitutional law and marriage rights for same-sex couples. Cruz can discuss the significance of  the Vermont legislature’s move to override the governor’s veto and open civil marriage to same-sex couples. He can also discuss how the Vermont development as well as last  week’s Iowa Supreme Court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage could impact other courts , including the California Supreme Court, which is considering a challenge to California’s ban on same-sex marriages. He can talk about how Connecticut and Massachusetts are currently the only other states in the union to recognize same-sex marriage.

Cruz can be reached at dcruz@law.usc.edu.
