Second visit by the California Court of Appeals to the law school

Court of Appeal, Second District, Division 8 at USC LawThe California Court of Appeal spent a day at USC Law on March 28, hearing its calendar of cases during three sessions in Room 3 of the law school.

Second District, Division Eight Presiding Justice Candace Cooper '73, Associate Justice Paul Boland '66, Associate Justice Laurence D. Rubin and Associate Justice Madeleine Flier heard both criminal and civil cases before an audience of USC Law students, faculty, staff and members of the public.

The judges also joined a small number of first-year students for a luncheon in the Faculty Lounge, where they shared anecdotes about their time on the bench and offered advice to students in an informal setting. This was the second annual visit by a division of the Court of Appeal, arranged by Professors Jean Rosenbluth and Lisa Hinchcliffe-Link to expose law students to a day in a real life courtroom.
