Alumni honored at Judges & Lawyers Night

La Raza Law Students Association hosts its annual reception

USC La Raza Law Students Association honored two law school alumni during its annual Judges & Lawyers Night March 28.

California Court of Appeal Justice Paul Boland '66 received the Judge Alberto Armendariz '50 Community Service Award, named for the only Latino graduate of the 1950 class. Armendariz was who was a civil rights leader in the '50s and '60s.

Andrea Ramos '92, director of the Children's Rights Project at Public Counsel, received the Inspirational Alumnus Award, which recognizes legal work that benefits the Los Angeles community.

The Judges & Lawyers Night event was first held 11 years ago and provides an opportunity for USC Law students to socialize with members of USC's alumni network, as well as other judges and lawyers in the community.

Held in USC's Town and Gown, the reception featured live music by the six-piece USC Trojan Mariachi band, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails.
