Mona Shah previously worked as a litigation attorney at the law firm of Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP, where she specialized in employment and real estate. In addition, she has a wide range of experience in other practice areas including personal injury, construction defect, business and commercial litigation, and complex and class action litigation. Shah maintained an active trial practice, appearing in both state and federal court, as well as before various administrative bodies. She also provided day-to-day counsel to a number of corporate and individual clients, advising on legal and business issues.

Shah also served as a mentor to junior attorneys within the firm. She is a board member of the Asian Pacific Community Fund, and has been involved in numerous California Bar and minority bar associations, including serving as past president of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California and the Board of the South Asian Bar Association of North America.

In addition to her current practice, Shah also maintains an active mediation practice. She received her BA in political science from the University of California, Irvine, and her JD from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She is a member of the California State Bar.

"These kinds of bans and prohibitions only license the police to make more pre-text stops, and the Black community does not need more unjust interactions with police," he said.
