Mark Borenstein
Judge Mark Borenstein was appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court in March 2009, where he currently presides in a civil trial assignment in the Mosk Central Courthouse. Prior to his appointment, Judge Borenstein practiced law in state and federal courts for 30 years, specializing in complex civil litigation. He co-founded Overland Borenstein Scheper & Kim, formerly Overland & Borenstein, and was a partner of Tuttle & Taylor Law Corporation in Los Angeles.
While practicing, Judge Borenstein also taught Civil Procedure and Advanced Civil Procedure at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law. Judge Borenstein served as a law clerk to the Honorable Irving Hill, U.S. District Court, Los Angeles, from 1976 to 1977.
He earned his JD from George Washington University School of Law and bachelor’s degree from the University of Buffalo, graduating with honors from both schools. Judge Borenstein also holds a Master of Laws degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
