Christopher Floyd has over 30 years of experience as an entertainment studio executive. Currently, he is a special legal and business strategy advisor to Amblin Entertainment, the film and television production company of Steven Spielberg.

For a decade, Floyd served as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for Amblin Partners. He was a key member of the team that launched that partnership amongst the former DreamWorks Studios, Steven Spielberg, Universal Pictures, Participant Media, Alibaba Pictures and eOne Entertainment. At Amblin Partners, he oversaw all motion picture and television business and legal affairs, corporate legal matters and litigation, human resources, international distribution, and merchandising/ancillary licensing.

Immediately prior to his work at the Amblin entities, Floyd was an Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and later General Counsel for DreamWorks Studios, where he was in charge of all in-house counsel, responsible for oversight of all outside counsel, and established all business and legal affairs policies and practices for the company.

Earlier in his career, Floyd served as Senior Vice President of Business Affairs at both Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures, where he negotiated numerous negative pick-up and co-financing agreements.  He was also a business and legal affairs executive at Walt Disney Pictures. Floyd’s legal career began as a litigator at Hill, Wynne, Troop and Meisinger.

Floyd received his law degree from Georgetown University, magna cum laude. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
