John Kreager is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. His practice focuses on the organization, structuring and operation of private equity funds across a broad range of asset classes, including buyout funds, real estate funds and distressed and other debt funds. Kreager also counsels private equity sponsors on separately managed accounts, co-investment arrangements and structured secondary and other strategic transactions.

Kreager received his JD from the USC Gould School of Law, where he was a senior editor for the Southern California Law Review. He also received his BA in Cello Performance from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, summa cum laude, with a minor in Business Law.
