Joseph Al Latham

Joseph Al Latham, Jr. is a partner in the Los Angeles, California, office of Paul Hastings LLP, an international law firm. Latham represents employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law. He has taught labor law at the USC Gould School of Law for over thirty years.

Latham was President Ronald Reagan’s appointee as Staff Director of the United States Commission on Civil Rights from 1985-86, and was Chief Counsel to Member Patricia Diaz Dennis of the National Labor Relations Board from 1983-85. He has been chosen by his peers for listing in The Best Lawyers in America and has been elected a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Latham received his BA degree, cum laude, from Yale University in 1973, and his JD degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1976. In law school, Latham was an articles editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif.
