Josh Ludmir
Josh Ludmir is a lecturer in law at the USC Gould School of Law, where he teaches courses on digital media transactions. He is a partner in the Entertainment and Media group at Greenberg Traurig, LLP in Los Angeles. Ludmir's practice focuses on representing talent and media companies in a wide array of transactions in the digital, TV, music, advertising and motion picture industries. He advises clients in deals involving all aspects of content and product development, production and distribution; branding, marketing and promotions; data and privacy as well as other related matters across various media and platforms.
Ludmir’s experience includes seven years in-house at Participant Media, where he oversaw business and legal affairs for the company’s digital, marketing and social impact divisions, and for its short-form digital content arm, SoulPancake. He started his legal career at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley, and McCloy, LLP in the Project Finance/Renewable Energy group. Prior to practicing law, Ludmir once worked as a field reporter for “Let’s Go” Travel Guides in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, and traveled through South America in an old VW bus. He is on the board of directors of Para Los Niños and is an emeritus member of the board of directors of the Freedom Writers Foundation.
Ludmir received his BA, cum laude, from Harvard University, and his JD from the University of Michigan Law School. He is a native Spanish speaker.
