Jason Morris is a lecturer in law and teaches Introduction to Litigation in U.S. Courts.

Morris is an attorney in the Newport Beach, California, office of Newmeyer & Dillion LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment and Business Litigation practice groups. His primary responsibilities include representing clients in all aspects of agency hearings, alternative dispute resolution forums, and single-plaintiff, class action, and representative civil litigation matters. He also advises clients on labor and employment compliance matters, and drafts employment contracts and policies, among other general counsel matters.

Before joining Newmeyer & Dillion LLP in 2014, Morris served on active duty as a judge advocate in the Marine Corps from 2007 to 2014. While on active duty in the Marine Corps, he served as a prosecutor, criminal defense attorney and federal administrative law attorney at the Pentagon. Morris also served as the battalion judge advocate for 2d Battalion, 3d Marine Regiment during a combat deployment to Afghanistan in 2009, as well as the assistant judge advocate for Operation Caring Response, a multinational joint task force that provided humanitarian assistance to the people of Burma (Myanmar) following Tropical Cyclone Nargis in 2008. Morris continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve.

Morris received his BA in political science from Marian University in 2003 and his JD from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2006, after which he clerked for the Honorable Ezra H. Friedlander on the Court of Appeals of Indiana. Morris is a member of the California and Indiana State bars.
