Erin Prouty
Erin Prouty is a partner at the Los Angeles law firm of Hoffman, Sabban & Watenmaker, APC. She has 34 years of experience practicing exclusively in estate planning; probate and trust administration; estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning; charitable giving; related income and property tax issues; and probate and trust litigation. Prouty has specialized in these areas of law since she began her legal career in 1986.
Prouty is a graduate of the University of Southern California (BA 1980), University of San Diego School of Law (JD 1985), and Boston University (LLM Taxation 1986). She is a regular speaker at the USC Gould Trust and Estate Conference, the UCLA/CEB Estate Planning Institute, and several local bar associations.
Prouty has served on the State Bar of California Executive Committee for the Trusts and Estates Section and the Beverly Hills Bar Association Executive Committee for Trusts and Estates, and has been selected to serve on the Board of Governors for the Beverly Hills Bar Association in 2020. She is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, where she serves on the Transfer Tax Policy Committee.
While attending USC as an undergraduate, Prouty was a member of the USC women’s volleyball team. She graduated in 1980, at the age of 19.
