Susan Rohol
Susan Rohol is an Lecturer in Law at the USC Gould School of Law and a leading privacy and data strategy lawyer with over two decades of experience in the communications and entertainment sectors and on Capitol Hill. She is a partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and a member of its Privacy, Cybersecurity & Data Strategy and AI & Emerging Technologies groups. Rohol advises clients on cutting-edge issues involving privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, content moderation, intellectual property, regulatory investigations and global government affairs.
Prior to joining Willkie, Rohol served as Senior Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer for Warner Bros. Discovery, where she built and led a global team of more than 60 legal and compliance professionals. Earlier in her career, Rohol served as Nike’s Global Director of Intellectual Property and Privacy Policy. She has also worked as senior counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where she recommended the creation of the Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology and the Law.
Prior to law school, she served as Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal from 1998-2000. Rohol received her JD from Harvard Law School and her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Finance from Georgetown University. She has guest lectured at Harvard Law School and is a frequent speaker at conferences, on podcasts and in media outlets on privacy, data, and artificial intelligence topics.
