Katie Seiden is an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of the Terrorism and Export Crimes Section, focused on espionage and domestic terrorism matters. She has argued successfully at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and recently obtained a conviction in the jury trial of a member of a racially motivated violent extremist group. For her work, she has received a National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation and the Anti-Defamation League’s Sherwood Prize for Combatting Hate.

Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Seiden practiced litigation at Hueston Hennigan LLP and clerked for the Honorable Philip S. Gutierrez for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She obtained her BA from the University of Southern California and graduated Order of the Coif from UCLA School of Law, where she participated in the Supreme Court Clinic and was awarded the Lawrence Irell Prize for the highest academic average in her law school class.
