Glenn Shubb
Glenn Shubb has practiced general criminal and civil litigation for 30 years and is an active member of the California Bar Association. He holds degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara and Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
Shubb is a creative and practical problem solver for a wide variety of issues at the intersection of law and technology. For most of his career, his practice has been specifically focused on eDiscovery and the defensible use of technology for investigations, fact development and other complex litigation needs. As an eDiscovery expert and practitioner, Shubb has extensive experience with all aspects of electronically stored information (ESI) and the use of legal technology through the entire litigation lifecycle. His strengths include management of people and process, project management, consulting, strategic response, needs assessment, collection scoping, custodian interviewing, workflow design, fact development, matter budgeting, development of standards of practice, analytics and metrics and implementation of appropriate technical solutions.
Shubb spent the early part of his career in the courtroom litigating criminal and civil matters. Subsequently, Shubb worked at an AMLAW 100 firm (ranked #1 on the “AMLAW A-List” for numerous years), where he served as eDiscovery Counsel and as the Director of Automated Litigation Support for almost 20 years. Shubb is currently employed as a managing director in the Data Intelligence and Risk Management practice at FTI Consulting, Inc. and as an adjunct professor of eDiscovery Law at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
Throughout his career, Shubb represented Fortune 500 companies, law firms and governmental entities. Many of these representations included high-profile, high-stakes and “bet the company” matters in the areas of media law, technology, environmental tort, employee mobility and trade secrets, contract disputes and general commercial litigation. He has also managed numerous internal investigations and regulatory matters, including second requests under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
In addition to his practice, Shubb is involved with industry organizations and associations that address issues involving law and technology. He is an industry recognized expert on effective and efficient eDiscovery and litigation support. He currently serves on the Executive Committee on Law Practice Management and Technology for the California Lawyers’ Association and is involved with the International Legal Technology Association and the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium. In these roles, he works to increase the level of understanding and discourse on legal technology issues in the industry and is a frequent speaker at events and conferences.
