Sam Yebri
A graduate of Yale University and USC Gould School of Law, Sam Yebri is an experienced trial lawyer and partner at Merino Yebri LLP. Prior to founding Merino Yebri LLP, he served as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge A. Howard Matz, extern for United States District Court Judge George H. King, and as an associate at the national law firms of Jones Day and Proskauer Rose.
Yebri currently teaches “Blockchain and the Law” at USC Gould School of Law. This course explores the dynamic legal and compliance framework for blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and startups more generally.
Yebri served as a Los Angeles City Commissioner under Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and on a Gun Violence Prevention Task Force under Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Bet Tzedek Legal Services, the Jewish Free Loan Association of Los Angeles, and ETTA, an organization that provides housing and supportive services to developmentally disabled individuals.
He has authored a variety of articles that have appeared in the Los Angeles Lawyer, Huffington Post, and Jewish Journal. He has also been interviewed by the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, CNN, KPCC, and KCRW
