Dean welcomes new students

Hundreds attend party in Alumni Park

USC Gould School of Law Dean Robert K. Rasmussen hosted a New Student Welcome Party in Alumni Park Sept. 5.

Dean Robert Rasmussen talks with a student at the Welcome PartyThe dean (pictured left), new to USC Law this school year, joined hundreds of first-year and international students for drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a southern barbecue dinner. Law school faculty and staff also attended the event.

The New Student Welcome Party provided an opportunity for Dean Rasmussen and the new students to meet in a casual setting following the first week of classes. On Aug. 27, 196 new J.D. students started their fall semester classes alongside 87 international students, who will attend USC Law’s LL.M. program for one year.
