In addition, the law and pharmacy schools have partnered to launch the Law and Biopharmaceutical Sciences minor.
Building on its legacy of leadership and impact, the USC Gould School of Law is expanding its academic offerings with two new cutting-edge undergraduate minors: Entertainment Law minor, and Law and Regulation of Artificial Intelligence minor. USC Gould is also launching a unique, multi-disciplinary minor in partnership with USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences: Law and Biopharmaceutical Sciences minor.
Open to all USC undergraduates, these three programs equip students with essential skills at the intersection of law and each of these growing areas.
USC Gould’s Undergraduate Law Programs emphasize the role of law in shaping society, offering interdisciplinary coursework designed to prepare the next generation of leaders. These new minors advance that academic mission by providing students with a deeper understanding of how legal principles influence key industries and drive societal change. Additionally, the minors reflect the law school’s commitment to innovation and collaboration, strengthening academic partnerships with schools across USC, including the School of Cinematic Arts, the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, the Viterbi School of Engineering, and the Mann School of Pharmacy.
Each minor addresses pressing legal issues within key fields — entertainment, AI and pharmaceuticals — offering students from all majors and academic backgrounds the opportunity to explore their interests through a legal lens. These minors capitalize on USC’s position as an international leader in all three areas. By complementing their primary coursework with a minor from USC Gould, students gain a deeper understanding of the legal frameworks shaping these dynamic fields.
Dean Franita Tolson emphasized that “regardless of their career path, these minor programs will inspire students to engage with the legal aspect of their area of interest and empower them to use their knowledge to drive meaningful change in the world.”
