The USC Gould School of Law’s Undergraduate Law Programs proudly welcomed its newest cohort of bachelor’s degree students this fall, continuing to build on the growing momentum of the school’s undergraduate offerings.

This year’s incoming class includes 31 freshmen, 11 transfer students and 12 spring admitted students, hailing from 11 states and two countries. Selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants, the new students represent the expanding reach and strong reputation of the Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies program.

This academic year also marks an exciting period of growth for USC Gould’s undergraduate program offerings. Three new minor programs, open to all USC undergraduates, were launched recently, expanding opportunities for students to explore law in connection with a variety of disciplines. In addition, the program introduced a Legal Studies track for the USC in D.C. Spring Semester Program, enabling students to complete coursework and internships at the university’s Capital Campus in Washington, D.C.

Students and their guests were formally welcomed during the Undergraduate Law Programs Welcome Event on Aug. 21. Franita Tolson, USC Gould Dean and Carl Mason Franklin Chair in Law, alongside esteemed faculty and staff, noted the significance of joining the Gould community at this moment in time.

“These students arrive at a historic time for the school,” Tolson said. “USC Gould is proudly celebrating its milestone 125th anniversary and launching exciting new programs that open up a wide range of opportunities. I cannot wait to hear about all their accomplishments during their time here.”
