The Master of Laws (LLM) in Artificial Intelligence and Technology Law equips students to navigate the complex legal and regulatory issues arising from the development and deployment of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The program explores key areas including privacy, intellectual property, antitrust, technology governance and ethical considerations surrounding AI.

Through immersive coursework, students gain practical and regulatory insight into how AI and advanced technologies intersect with the law and shape broader societal and industry outcomes.

The LLM in Artificial Intelligence and Technology Law is a 24-unit degree program offered on campus on a full-time basis. The program is open to individuals who hold a law degree (JD, LLB, or equivalent).

Through the LLM in AI and Technology Law degree, you will be positioned to:

  • Apply legal and analytical skills to the regulation and governance of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze legal issues related to AI, machine learning, digital platforms, privacy, cybersecurity and data protection.
  • Advise clients on legal and regulatory matters affecting AI development, deployment, and technology innovation.
  • Apply legal and business frameworks to technology transactions, compliance, risk management and dispute resolution.
  • Demonstrate fluency in legal terminology and regulatory frameworks related to AI, data governance and emerging technologies.
  • Negotiate and draft foundational technology agreements, including AI licensing, data use agreements and other technology transactions.
