The evening allows students who are interested in pursuing federal clerkships to meet judges and former clerks. Sixty-four people, including 10 judges and justices, attended the event.

Among those who spoke at the event were Dean Robert K. Rasmussen and the Honorable George King '74, who praised the annual gathering as a wonderful tradition he hopes will continue in the years to come.

Spring clerkship reception"Judicial clerkships are a unique opportunity," said Rasmussen, who clerked for the Honorable John C. Gobold, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. "You have the ability to hone your legal analysis and writing skills, while at the same time learning about the judicial decision-making process.

"Like most former clerks, I view my time as a clerk as one of the most beneficial and enjoyable parts of my legal career."
