Career-oriented evening, another ringing success

Representatives from Winston and Strawn greet Gould students.

On June 19, USC Gould’s Career Services Office hosted the third annual Meet the Firm Night bringing together rising 2Ls (Class of 2020) and law firm recruiters, lawyers and numerous Gould grads prior to the job fair and on-campus interview season. Students attend this event to learn about firms in preparation for the On Campus Interview Program, which starts on July 31.

A record-breaking 52 national and international law firms were present.  As in past years, the evening kicked off with a packed-room panel that included alumni Michael Turrill (JD 1996), hiring partner and a litigation partner at Hogan Lovells, Cristyn Chadwick (JD 2011), senior associate in the litigation department at Alston & Bird, Najeh Baharun (JD/MBA 2012), associate in the corporate department at Milbank, and Stella Hong, recruiting coordinator at Gibson Dunn, and moderated by Dean of Career Services, Betsy Armour.

“This event has become a critical element of our students’ preparations for the job search and our alumni and friends from the firm side play an impactful role in supporting us,” said Armour.
