USC Gould has a long-standing tradition of diversity that dates to the earliest days of the law school. One only needs to take a stroll through the hallways of our building and view portraits from the earliest graduating classes to see the diverse student body that is a hallmark of Gould . We understand that in order to nurture meaningful dialogue in the classroom, the student body must reflect the make-up of society in general. It is with this background that we proudly host the Admissions Diversity workshop.
Our focus for this workshop includes an overview of national trends as it relates to minority law school applicants and the importance of cultivating a diverse student body and legal profession. Additionally, we hope to leave you with tangible advice that will enable you to be the strongest law school applicant possible. The workshop will feature a number of different panels and discussions. Representatives from the Black Law Students Association, the Latino Law Students Association, the Asian Pacific Law Students Association and OUTLaw will lead a discussion on what it's like to be a law student and how their student organizations provide support to incoming students. In addition, we will have alumni who will discuss "From a Lawyer's Desk" how they paved their road to success.
