Students will learn to read, analyze and advise clients with respect to patent, software and data licenses. This class is intended for students who are considering working in the technology or life science industries. This course provides students with doctrinal and practical foundations through readings, class lectures, and a series of exercises. Students will gain exposure to the anatomy of business contracts generally, the important aspects of patent, copyright and trade secret law from a licensing perspective, and other relevant substantive law and practices at the intersection of contracts and intellectual property. This class was previously called Technology Transactions.
