The Role of the In-House Entertainment Lawyer LAW-799

This is a hands-on, practical, experiential course for students who wish to experience for one semester what it’s like to be a junior in-house attorney at a studio, production company, or other content producer. Throughout the course of the semester, the class will follow the progress of a fictional TV show, from acquisition of rights, through development, and then to production.

Even though the course is very specific to the entertainment industry, the skills taught, and the concepts experienced – preparing for negotiations, drafting agreements, counseling clients – are applicable to all transactional practices.
