Brianna Howard, a lecturer in law for legal writing, is a senior litigation associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP. Howard’s work focuses on commercial and intellectual property disputes in state and federal courts across a variety of industries including life sciences, sports, entertainment, technology, and financial services. She has experience representing clients primarily in consumer class actions, unfair competition claims, breach of contract, data privacy, and intellectual property infringement claims.
Howard is the co-author of Class/Collective Actions in the United States published by the legal publishing company Practical Law, and previously served as vice chair of the litigation committee for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers division and board member of The American Lawyer’s Young Lawyer editorial board. She has also had articles published in Forbes, TechCrunch, and VentureBeat.
Howard earned her bachelor’s degree from University of California, Los Angeles and her JD from Hastings College of the Law. While in law school, Howard served as the executive editor of Hastings Women’s Law Journal (now Hastings Journal on Gender and the Law) a board member of the Black Law Students Association at UC Hastings, and a board member of Hastings Moot Court, during which time she was awarded National Champion, First Place Oralist, and Second Place Brief of the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment and Media Moot Court competition.

Law schools have been adapting to the increase in technological advancements, especially with the increased need for attorneys with the creation of AI. “Attorneys work on the front end, conducting threat assessments to ensure that their clients’ systems and data are protected, and on the back end, to navigate any legal issues that may arise as a result of the attacks," Gruzas said.
