Peter Durning is senior counsel at The Boeing Company, where he supports Boeing’s satellites and space businesses and manages litigation and arbitration enterprise-wide, with special emphasis on international disputes.  Prior to Boeing, Durning was of counsel at Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles, where he developed a special expertise in international arbitration alongside a broad and multi-industry commercial practice.

At Latham, Durning was mentored by Claudia Salomon, a renowned international arbitration practitioner who was elected President of the ICC’s International Court of Arbitration in 2021 (the first U.S. citizen in that role).  Durning has sat as an independent arbitrator and remains highly active in the international arbitration policymaking community, currently serving as vice-chair on the Steering Committee of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, and co-chair of the Corporate Counsel group of the USCIB’s Arbitration Committee.  Durning also served as a representative for the North American chapter of the ICC’s Young Arbitration and ADR Forum.  In those and other capacities, Durning advocates for innovations and improvements in international dispute resolution, which is where his academic and research interests lie.
