Nicholas Raichart
Nicholas Raichart has been a practicing organizational ombudsman for more than five years at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). As part of his practice, he provides dispute resolution and conflict coaching services to all members of the UCSD campus and health system. Raichart routinely addresses such issues as workplace hostility and harassment, supervisor-supervisee concerns, academic disputes and authorship conflicts, and intra- and inter-group relationships. As a member of UCSD’s Restorative Justice and Campus Safety and Security Advisory Committees, Raichart helps identify trends and patterns to bring early resolution to issues of heightened sensitivity. Additionally, he regularly conducts conflict literacy training to students, staff, and academic appointees.
Raichart actively works with his colleagues to help grow the organizational ombuds field, including serving as the International Ombudsman Association (IOA) Sponsorship Committee Chair.
Raichart obtained his JD from Pepperdine University School of Law, as well as his Master of Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution in 2008. He is a member of the International Ombudsman Association and the California Bar Association.
