Monika Wiener

Monika Wiener has practiced as an attorney specializing in business restructuring and bankruptcy law for nearly 20 years, representing debtors, creditors' committees and other stakeholders in major chapter 11 cases.

After law school, she clerked for the Hon. Edward Rafeedie, U.S. District Judge, in the Central District of California, and worked as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. In 2012, she joined Jones Day's Los Angeles office as of counsel, where she practiced until 2019. Currently, she teaches legal writing and analysis at the USC Gould School of Law and manages a portfolio of commercial real estate investments.

Wiener received her JD, Order of the Coif, from USC Gould in 2000, and her BA in anthropology with honors from the University of Chicago in 1994. During law school, she served as a student instructor in the first-year legal writing program and as articles editor on the Southern California Law Review.
