Fortune' May 13.

The experience was a thrill for the longtime game show fan, who is director of the legal and international programs for the It Gets Better Project.

"I grew up watching' Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy' every night with my family and always wanted to audition for the show," Rozenberg said. "It was a really amazing experience. I met a lot of great people, including Vanna White, who truly looks incredible with and without makeup! I wish I would have done even better, but taking off one day of work was well worth it."

Rozenberg had a strong start with guessing the lead-off "tossup" puzzle, "TEAM CAPTAIN." He won the first round as well, despite landing on "bankrupt" once, to lead with $4,200. The following two rounds went to the eventual winner, but Rozenberg took a sped-up Round 4 with a fitting "RACING AGAINST THE CLOCK" to secure second place.

He said he participated in an audition for the show after hearing they were being held nearby. After being called back for a second audition, he received notice he would appear on the show, but 14 months passed before the show finally aired.

"It was well worth the wait, but the hardest part was keeping the fact that I was going to be on the show secret for so long because I did not want people to watch if I ended up doing something embarrassing during the taping," Rozenberg said. "I didn't really let people know until more than a year after my first audition date."
