Brown was elected California’s 31st attorney general on November 6, 2006. He previously was elected Governor of California in 1974 and reelected in 1978. During his tenure California created 25% of the nation’s new jobs and made California the leader in solar and alternative energy.

He also served two terms as the mayor of Oakland between 1998 and 2006. During that time crime dropped more than 30% and construction began on new housing units for more than 10,000 people. Read more about Brown here.
