Dean Robert Rasmussen will be taking any and all questions from students on Tuesday, Oct. 23, in a special installment of “Conversations with the Dean.”
The lunchtime event — held from 12:30 to 1:10 p.m. in Room 7 — will be moderated by Student Bar Association President Marc Berman. He will kick off the discussion with several questions for Rasmussen, and then open the dialogue to students.
“I really want to know what is on students’ minds,” Rasmussen said. “I feel a little unsettled because this is the first time in 19 years I haven’t taught classes. So, I am very interested in hearing what the students have to say and any ideas they have.”
Rasmussen joined USC Law on Aug. 1 after teaching for 18 years at Vanderbilt University Law School, where he received the outstanding teaching award six times.
Rasmussen most recently held the Milton Underwood Chair in Law and served as director of the school’s Law & Human Behavior Program. He previously served the law school as associate dean for academic affairs and chair of the University Faculty Senate and was the longtime director of the Vanderbilt Law and Economics Program.
Rasmussen’s scholarly expertise focuses on the interaction of market forces and corporate reorganization law, and his most recent work addresses fundamental changes in corporate reorganization practice.
Sandwiches and drinks will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.
