USC Gould School of Law Professor Jonathan Barnett testified before the California Law Revision Commission recently, speaking on proposed changes to the state’s antitrust law. The testimony, held via Zoom on June 20, related to a report addressing whether California would benefit from adopting elements of the Digital Markets Act, enacted in the European Union.

“My conclusion in the report, as you know, is very simple: that it would be inadvisable and it would likely be against the best interests of California’s innovation economy and ultimately the California consumer, to adopt the approach reflected in the Digital Markets Act,” said Barnett, the Torrey H. Webb Professor of Law.
