USC Gould students gathered in Crocker Plaza for the annual Public Interest Career Fair, presented by the Office of Public Service, the Career Services Office and the Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF). At the fair, students had the opportunity to meet with over 30 local non-profit and government agencies, and learn about summer externships and internships.

The goal of the event was to primarily introduce 1st and 2nd year law students to the variety of public interest agencies in Southern California and allow them to connect what they learned in their classrooms to jobs in the real world.

“For some [students], it's about putting a face to the organizations," said Malissa Barnwell-Scott, director at the USC Office of Public Service. "Students may have heard about some of these organizations before, but it is always nice to meet people and make a connection at an agency."

The representatives at the event included many USC Gould alumni who are now working in public service. There was also an array of agencies in attendance, ranging from criminal defense to environmental justice.
