Second-year USC Law student Becky Raizman won the California Bar’s Second Annual Public Law Section Student Writing Competition with her submission, “Legal and Policy Justifications for Transitioning Foster Youth Services as an Entitlement in California: Section 391 Hearings and Continuing Court Jurisdiction.”

Raizman received a $1,000 cash prize and was invited to attend the Public Lawyer of the Year award reception sponsored by the Public Law Section at the State Bar’s annual meeting this fall.

Her submission was chosen based on complexity of topic, relevancy to areas of public law, timeliness of topic to current developments, originality, and quality of writing.
