“Spring Fling” celebration draws large crowd

USC Law students, faculty and staff gathered at Crocker Plaza March 30 for a "Spring Fling" that featured a barbecue, music and a dunk tank.

Spring Fling 2006The Student Bar Association organized the community-building event, and SBA leaders say they hope it will continue to be a USC Law tradition that brings together a wide spectrum of the law school community.

After munching on free hamburgers, chips, cookies and soda, attendees were given the chance to dunk student leaders and faculty members, who took turns sitting in the tank stationed near the law school's front entrance.

Among those who braved the windy afternoon — and avenging students — were SBA President Cameron Kalunian; Professors Tom Griffith, Kareem Crayton, and Ed McCaffery; and Associate Dean Rob Saltzman. The sale of the dunk tank balls raised more than $300, which will be split between the Public Interest Law Foundation and the 1L and 3L classes.
