The Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California (USC) is now accredited by the Compliance Certification Board (CCB) for its online certificates in Compliance, Financial Compliance, Health Care Compliance, and Human Resources Law and Compliance. The certificates may be earned on a standalone basis or concurrent with an online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree.
Since 1999, the CCB has set the standards that individuals must meet to receive and hold certification in compliance. With certification, compliance and ethics professionals achieve credible recognition as qualified compliance practitioners, which is often required for advanced positions in the field. Students who complete USC Gould’s CCB-accredited coursework are exempt from the work experience requirements and may sit for a CCB exam upon graduation.
The CCB offers several certifications in areas of compliance. The USC Gould School of Law provides compliance-focused courses that help both lawyer and non-lawyer students reach a variety of professional goals in line with CCB standards, including industry-specific online certificates in four areas: Corporate Compliance, Human Resources Law and Compliance, Health Care Compliance, and Financial Compliance. Graduates meeting CCB course unit requirements while earning these online compliance certificates will have a comprehensive understanding of legal and compliance issues that prepares them for CCB certification.
“Certification from the Compliance Certification Board grants our graduates differentiated, valuable accreditation as they pursue new or higher roles in compliance fields,” says Gould School Associate Dean Deborah Call. “With USC Gould’s online courses serving as the requisite experience necessary to sit for a CCB exam, our students will be among an elite set of prepared, qualified compliance professionals.”
The USC Gould School of Law is one of U.S. News & World Report’s top 20 Best Law Schools. For more information on degrees, certificates and CCB certification, contact the USC Gould School of Law Graduate & International Programs office at msl@law.usc.edu or 213-821-5916.
