Meet Katie Morris (MSL 2022), a student in the online Master of Studies in Law program. Morris is about to graduate from the MSL program with an Entertainment Law and Industry certificate while working full-time as the Senior Manager of Content Strategy at Paramount+. In the video below, she shares what a day in the life of an online graduate student living and working full time in New York City is like.

Transcript:

Hi everyone, my name is Katie Morris. I am the Senior Manager of Content Strategy for movies at Paramount+ and I am also a student at USC Gould School of Law where I'm pursuing an online Master of Studies in Law and a certificate in Entertainment Law and Industry. So I'm going to take you through my day today to show you what it's like to be a full-time employee and student.

This is Tony, he is our wiener dog puppy and since we work from home he is with us 24/7 — isn't that right Tony? It's 7:30 in the morning here and I am going to take Tony to Central Park, I'm going to go pick up a coffee and then head to the gym!

It's 8:30 in the morning and Tony and I just got back from Central Park. I'm heading down to the gym to get a workout in and while I'm there I'm going to screen a movie for work.

It is 9:00 in the morning here in New York. I just finished up my workout and I'm ready for work but before I start my day I'm just going to take five minutes to outline all of my homework assignments from Moodle to make sure that I'm really prepared for class tonight and the rest of the week.

I just finished outlining my homework for the week so I'm going to close my personal computer and walk the 10 feet from my dining table to my office to start my work day.

It's 1:00 p.m. here in New York. I just finished up a bunch of meetings, I'm gonna go take my lunch break and take Tony back to Central Park to get a little bit more energy out.

We just got back from a walk in Central Park, it is such a beautiful day today. I have a few more meetings, about five more hours worth of work, and then I'll be signing off and then signing back on for class tonight.

It is 6:00 p.m. here in New York. I just finished up a full day of meetings and I have a little bit of time to kill in between dinner and class tonight so I thought I would dig into some reading and open up Hollywood Dealmaking which is a great book written by my professor for my Entertainment Law and Industry course.

It's 8:55 p.m. tonight, I just finished up dinner with my fiance and I have class at 9:00 until about 10:15 and then I'll be done for the night.

It is 10:30 p.m. at night here in New York and I just wrapped up class at USC. I am pretty tired from a full day of work and school so I'm going to hang out on the couch with my fiance, watch a little TV and unwind. I am so glad that you were able to join me for a little behind-the-scenes footage of what it's like to be a full-time employee and online student at USC Gould School of Law.
