Prospective USC Law students experienced student life at this year’s annual USC Law Preview Day on Friday, April 21.

Hosted by the Office of Admissions, the all-day event is a school-wide open house that allows all admitted applicants to preview what the law school has to offer.

“We had welcome events set up throughout the day that hopefully answered their questions and helped them make a decision on whether or not they want to come here,” said Gabriela Ryan, director of student affairs.

In addition to getting better acquainted with the law school’s facilities, the more than 100 attendees had the opportunity to sit in on mock classes led by Professors Scott Altman and Thomas Griffith.

Assoc. Dean Rob Saltzman
Associate Dean Robert Saltzman told admitted students to "go with your gut" when choosing a law school.

“The students were sent cases to read beforehand, and they’re supposed to come to the class prepared,” Ryan said. “They got to see what being a student here is really like.”

Participants also had the chance to hear from current students, alumni and faculty in a series of panels and question-and-answer sessions.

Representatives from various USC Law student organizations were present at the student organization fair to talk to attendees about activities and groups they can get involved with as a student at the law school.

Preview Day ended with a reception in the early evening, with a keynote address from Professor Elizabeth Garrett.
